Since February 2026 · Edinburgh

Built by people who play four times a week

Alvania started because buying a second paddle in Europe meant guessing from American review videos, paying customs on delivery, and hoping the grit lasted a season. We fixed the three of those we could.

How we got here

Short history, on purpose

/ 2024

A Tuesday league

Four of us playing indoor doubles in Edinburgh, all holding paddles bought on a guess, three of them wrong.

/ 2025

Testing, properly

Eighteen months putting cores, faces and grits in front of club players from 2.5 to 4.5 and writing down what actually changed their scoreline.

The 30-day play test

Buy the paddle. Play with it properly for thirty days — league, outdoors, in the rain. If it isn't right, tell us and we'll swap it or refund it. Postage is covered both directions.

We expect the edge guard scuffed, the grit worn and the grip soaked. None of that voids the return. The only exclusion is a cracked or snapped face from impact with something that isn't a ball.

Orders leave Edinburgh the same working day if they're placed before 2pm. EU orders ship duty-paid — the courier will never ask you for money at the door, and if one ever does, we refund it that day.

Apparel returns: 30 days, unworn, tags on. Paddles: 30 days, played-in is fine. Balls and grips: unopened only.

Grip & sizing guide

Measure from the middle crease of your palm to the tip of your ring finger. That measurement in inches is your grip circumference.

If you're between sizes, take the smaller one — an overgrip adds about 1/16 in, and you can always build up. You can't shrink a handle.

Two-handed backhand? Add at least 1/2 in of handle length, not circumference.

Ask before you buy

Send your level, your grip size and what keeps going wrong. You'll get a two-line answer from someone who plays — not a push toward the most expensive paddle in stock.
